What the role is about:
The Logistics & Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for overseeing all outbound cannabis transportation following pick/pack completion and managing inbound receiving of non-cannabis consumables and operational supplies. This role ensures delivery schedules are optimized, transport routes are compliant and efficient, and all inbound materials are accurately received and reconciled in the ERP system. The position plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, chain-of-custody integrity, and on-time delivery performance across retail and wholesale channels.
What you'll do:
1. Outbound Cannabis Transportation Oversight
- Assume control of orders once pick/pack is complete and staged.
- Assist in developing and managing daily delivery schedules.
- Assist in optimizing compliant delivery routes.
- Assign transport teams and vehicles based on delivery volume and geographic strategy.
- Ensure all manifests and required regulatory documentation are accurate prior to departure.
- Monitor live deliveries and proactively resolve delays or route deviations.
- Coordinate delivery confirmations and proof-of-delivery documentation.
- Ensure transport team adherence to SOPs and NY state cannabis regulations.
- Track on-time delivery performance and route efficiency metrics.
2. Transport Team Lead
- All duties outlined in the transport job description.
- Oversee transport associates and drivers.
- Conduct pre-trip documentation verification (vehicle logs, manifests, compliance checks).
- Ensure vehicle readiness, security compliance, and route documentation.
- Provide coaching on efficiency, compliance, and professionalism during deliveries.
3. Inbound Non-Cannabis Receiving Oversight
- All duties outlined in the warehouse coordinator job description.
- Oversee receipt of non-cannabis goods (packaging, consumables, PPE, operational supplies).
- Validate inbound shipments against purchase orders.
- Manage discrepancy resolution (shortages, damage, incorrect SKUs).
- Ensure accurate ERP receiving transactions.
- Coordinate staging and internal warehouse distribution of materials.
- Maintain receiving documentation for audit readiness.
4. Compliance & Documentation Control
- Ensure all outbound cannabis deliveries meet regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper manifest tracking and record retention.
- Ensure accurate batch/lot tracking documentation.
- Support internal and external audits related to transportation and inventory.
- Maintain SOP adherence for both outbound and inbound logistics processes.
5. Performance & Reporting
- Monitor KPIs including:
- On-time delivery rate
- Route efficiency
- Delivery accuracy
- Transportation cost per route
- Receiving accuracy
- Identify process improvement opportunities in route planning and receiving workflow.
- Provide weekly performance updates to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate daily with:
- Fulfillment team
- Sales
- Retail/Wholesale partners
- Procurement
- Inventory control
- Ensure delivery schedule aligns with sales priorities and production output.
- Communicate real-time transportation updates to relevant stakeholders.
What you've accomplished:
- 3–5+ years in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations.
- Experience in regulated industry (cannabis strongly preferred).
- Experience managing delivery routing and transportation scheduling.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Business Central) and inventory controls.
- Strong understanding of chain-of-custody and compliance documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs

The pay for this role is $23-26/hour. Competitive health, dental, vision, life, and 401k insurance benefits offered.
