What the role is about:
As Head of Operations, you will have full ownership and accountability for the largest indoor grow facilities in Maryland as well as retail and wholesale. These facilities require seamless coordination across Cultivation, Production, and Sales to meet market demands.  Additionally, you will oversee the entire supply chain, including facilities, transport, and logistics, ensuring seamless delivery to both internal retail locations and external wholesale partners.

What impact you’ll make: 

  • Own all aspects of cultivation, lab, packaging, facilities, logistics, and distribution to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage a cross-functional team across multiple facilities, ensuring collaboration and alignment with state and national goals.
  • Create and implement strategic operational plans in coordination with the State, National and Executive leadership teams, focusing on aligning state operations with market demands and retail strategies.
  • Understand the market and anticipate pricing, quality and market shifts by staying ahead of the competition and providing key insights to the leadership team.
  • Set production goals based on S&OP meetings and optimize inventory to meet market needs.
  • Work closely with sales teams to understand and meet market demands and conduct customer visits to gain insights and align operations accordingly.
  • Manage the state operations P&L, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Champion initiatives to maintain and improve safety standards across all facilities and drive site quality metrics to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with regulations.  
  • Develop equipment and labor capacity models to anticipate and plan for scaling needs, ensuring the smooth expansion of operations as demand grows.  
  • Plan and oversee new product launches, implement new technologies, and optimize workflows.
  • Undertake other duties as required to support the overall success of the state operations and achieve business objectives.
What you’ve accomplished:
  • 5+ years of experience in the cannabis industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management
  • Experience in a USDA/FDA-regulated environment
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans
  • Experience collaborating with sales teams and managing supply chains
  • Familiarity with multi-tiered supply chains and machine automation
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving industry
  • Proficiency with multiple software platforms and willingness to develop custom tools
