What the role is about:

The IPM/Fertigation Lead is responsible for assisting the Cultivation Supervisor in coordinating and managing the IPM/Fertigation team in the cultivation and care of the company's plants.

What impact you'll make:

  • Assists the Cultivation Supervisor in organizing daily activities of the IPM/Fertigation Techs.
  • Assists the Cultivation Supervisor in setting up and organizing daily activities for the optimal performance of the IPM/Fertigation Department
  • Reports to the Cultivation Supervisor on all activities within the department to review potential improvements or adjustments to IPM/Fertigation plans.
  • Applies and supervises irrigation, fertilizers, beneficial bugs, and IPM sprays in accordance with company policy and application schedule.
  • Performs regular quality assessments in all growth areas for signs of disease and/or infestation, and records data in master record.
  • Ensures the IPM/Fertigation Team adheres to a rigorous schedule ensuring actions are done accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Records all IPM activities as required in the spray log.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of all assigned areas.
  • Reports any event or condition that might affect plant growth and development to the Cultivation Supervisor.
  • Responsible for light to medium maintenance of growing systems including pipes, pumps, spray equipment, etc.
  • Responsible for application of nutrients as well as recording of application as determined by the Director of Cultivation.
  • Responsible for maintaining a Pesticide Applicator Certification if requested by the Director of Cultivation, as well as the application of pesticides as directed by the Director of Cultivation.
  • Able to work independently as well as operating as part of a team.
  • Adhere to strict sanitation practices throughout the facility
  • All other duties as required by the Cultivation Tech and IPM/Fertigation Tech job descriptions.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of cultivation.


Physical Demands:  Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication may be required. Sitting or standing for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Some heavy lifting may be required. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required.

Work Environment: The job is performed indoors and outdoors. Must be able to work in hot, humid environments for extended periods of time with exposure to dust, allergens, and water. Appropriate PPE will be provided. Activities include extended periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, stooping and bending. Twisting in tight areas may also be required at times.

  • Compensation: $30.57/hour with a guaranteed annual wage increase
